I have Beatles The Authorized Biography by Hunter Davies... complete with dust jacket...1st printing and the Beatles Illustrated Lyrics by allan aldridge with dust jacket...1st printing.. are these collectable? if so...what are the value if any? thank you
[Posted by namralos on 3/22/08 12:18 AM] I usually see them in the $20 to $30 range, but I thought I'd check sales on eBay. A first edition book club edition with DJ sold recently for $4.99. There is a stated first edition with DJ on there right now, selling for less than $10, but there's still time left. A hardback of the Illustrated Lyrics, with DJ sold for $9 (plus postage) in what looks to be VG condition. Frank Daniels
[Posted by DaveHaber on 3/22/08 12:42 AM] A couple of interesting facts about the book called The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics. Ironically, the paperback version of the book is not illustrated at the hardcover version is. In addition, the paperback version contains a center section of Beatles photographs, and every copy I've seen, including the one I own, is partially or totally broken on the spine in that center area of the photos.

Cant believe they are selling for as low as they are on ebay. I would be leary if its a 1st edition going for 4.99.....no real Beatles collector would sell an older out of print book for 5 bucks......but thats just my opinion, besides I wouldnt sell mine even if I had to for 5 dollars.
[Posted by Willie on 3/23/10 10:16 AM] I have both versions of The Beatles Illistrated Lyrics, hard cover and paperback. Best book I have is Music of The Beatles-Twilight of The Gods. I've read it about 3-times it gets into the music theroy of The Beatles.
