Hello i have two Beatles Monthly Books i bought recently from EBAY. I have pics of each of them front and back. What is the value of them? And were they replicated years later. Ive spoken with a friend and says there rip offs because they look too new to be from 1966-67. Im not so sure. A need a little input on them.
[Posted by beatledel on 12/13/09 10:22 AM] Hi beatlemoose. I think your friend maybe jumping the gun a little. The large christmas extra was only printed the once, at time of issue. The pages were on a heavy grade paper, with a slight textured feel to them. The beatles monthly is more difficult as they were reprinted from issue no1. Do you have other monthlies to compare with,a good way to check is size as the reprints were fractionally smaller, but not by much. Also check some of the black/white photo's,on an original the blacks were generally much deeper and dense, where as the reprints had a tendency to be a little on the weak side.
