 Subject: UK Price Guide
Posted by: Geepa on 12/27/09 9:16 AM

As a newby to beatlescollecting.com, it appears from comments on this forum that, if one wants to collect Beatles LPs, a 'must-have' would be the "Price Guide for the Beatles American Records".

I am interested in the UK Parlophone/Apple records. Is there a price guide for the UK records? Does the information in the American Records book apply to the UK issues?

Also, when will the next edition of the "American Records" book be out?

What a great Beatles web-site!

Next edition? Probably in 2012. There's a Beach Boys book on the way first.

There is no price guide (yet!) that covers ALL pressings (group, solo, reissues) of the group's UK catalog. For original Beatles material only, my website is a guide, although the prices on some items are volatile. There's also this site
www.leninimports.com/beatles_pg.html, which lists a lot of records but doesn't picture any. The prices are a bit outdated, too. As I indicated, it's tough to stay on top of the prices, because some items just shoot up and down.

Then there's the additional wrinkle that British records with wrong/obscure tax codes, and copies with early stamper numbers tend to outsell the typical copies.

Honestly, for UK releases I tend to check Popsike.

Thanks for the great information.

You're right, prices do fluctuate quite a bit. There was an excellent/near mint White Album on eBay about 4-6 weeks ago that went for $1200. It was numbered in the 3000s. Just last week another near mint White Album, numbered 6800, went for $2300.

Where would you recommend I buy your "Price Guide..."? The link on this page takes me to another book.

The links here to The Official Price Guide for the Beatles American Records is correct. It takes you to www.beatle.net/ where the book is for sale.

That book called "It's All Too Much" doesn't contain a price guide, does it?
I don't own a copy - I just looked on eBay - but it looks like it just covers all the different label variations of the '60s UK singles.

I have Reg's book. Not a price guide.

For "normal" items, there are copies selling every week on ebay.co.uk. It's best to just check the auction results.
