 Subject: Dolls
Posted by: James3 on 3/2/10 12:32 AM

I have a near mint set of The 1964, 8" car mascots bobbin head dolls. All parts are there, both drum sticks still on Ringo, box is all there, even the piece of paper that has uses for the dolls. I have had them for years and am wondering what they are worth to a collector. Thanks for any feedback!

Jim:

The 2nd Edition of the Beatles Memorabilia Pricc-e Guide lists values of $325 to $650 for a complete set, dependong on condition. In our past auctions at Heritage, we've sold similar sets for approx. $300 to $2,300. (examples: entertainment.ha.com/common/auction/pricesrealized.php?src=&ID=&optGlobalSearch=&globalSiteDropdown=entertainment&cboDenomination=All%3A&cboSaleNo=&txtSearch=beatles+bobbin&cmdSearch=Search+Auction+Archives&hdnSearch=True&txtLotNo=&stage=1)

What sort of condition are yours in?

Gary

Thet are in excellent condition. The box has one corner that has a small crease in it, other than that, they are perfect.

I also have a clear vinyl Bag that was made in Japan with a yellow draw string on it. the size of the bag is big enough to put the beatles doll box in. it has a picture of the beatles on the front of the bag. Any thoughts on value on this?

I've been digging around on that, but no leads yet. Will continue to look, though...

Without seeing the bag..it sounds like you have a Beatles tote bag from Japan. These are an unlicensed item from 1966.These were sold during the bands visit to play the Budokan Hall in Tokyo.

I will try to post some pictures today of both the dolls and the bag. Thanks for your help.

I had one of our guys take a look at it; he gave an estimate of $100 based on the condition as it appeared in the photo.
Hope this helps.

Gary
