 Subject: Beatles on Tower!

What Beatles related album is on the Tower Records label?

[Posted by Beatlescollector on 3/9/10 7:47 PM]

Are you referring to the album Sing a Song with the Beatles (see photo)? It was released by Tower Records catalog # ST-5000 in 1966. I always thought that this album was really overlooked as a Beatles related record. Tower Records was a subsidiary label of Capitol Records, and the cover itself thus contained a wonderful set of photos of the Beatles live in concert (see photo).

Yes, that's the one. I wonder about the rarity factor.

That's not a rare album, but because it's on a Capitol subsidiary, and since the Beatles are on the cover, collectors of Beatles-related records buy that one. I have a copy. :-)

Yeah, I thought it was earlier release than 1966, too - but someone put together a discography of all Tower Records releases online and concluded that this was 1966 based on its catalog number, I guess.

I know, I know - that's what I get for expecting accuracy the Web instead of trusting my own hunch. ;)
