Subject: Water damaged second state butcher
Posted by: caoilte on 3/9/10 2:37 PM

Just come across this second state butcher with quite bad water damage at bottom and some at the top. I would have always been of the opinion to keep a second state as a second state and never ever consider peeling!! I have two other second states and would never ever peel. I just wonder if the value of the cover would be more if the slick underneath was in better condition than the trunk cover. A professional peel versus a water damaged second state, see picture, please advise!!!

Also, could anyone hazard a guess as to the value as it is and as it might be after pro peel? any advice would be a great help.

Keep it as is. Pro-peel will cost you more than it's worth in this condition. I have serious doubts it's going to look any better peeled anyway. It's not worth much $, but you can say "I have a Butcher"!
