Why dont I see any of the three Beatle movies on cable TV..NY/Nj area... I get over 200 channels..and I cant recall seeing Help or AHDN ...EVER ??..but you sure see Rocky 1,2,3..and Dance with Wolves, and Dirty Dancing, and ..you know what Im saying...

None of the Beatles movies are currently licensed for TV or Cable showing. They don't show on TV or Cable in any TV market.

Way back in the seventies, I did see Let It Be on HBO. That was probably concurrent with its release on Laser Disc. It's not shown anymore.

All the Beatles movies, except for Let It Be, are or have been available on DVD, and all of the Beatles movies, except for Let It Be, are available on Netflix, including Magical Mystery Tour.

OK, so Apple won't licence any of The Beatles' films for television broadcast. The question remains: Why? Obviously they think that if they don't allow broadcasting/cable programming, then fans are more apt to go out and just purchase the DVD. That is partially correct. Diehard fans are going to buy all the DVD's anyway. But what about the casual fan? Or the fan from long ago? Or the "yet to be" fans? If they were to show Yellow Submarine, Help, or HDN on TCM occasionally, people would be spurred to go out and purchase PRODUCT! CD's, DVD's, everything! It's an easy way to advertise....and at the same time get the younger generation interested in The Beatles. When I was a kid, those three movies were on TV occasionally, and it was an EVENT. It would inspire me to go out and buy more Beatles records. If Apple wouldn't lock all these films up, they would see that the Beatles fanbase and their overall sales would increase. Show the films once in a while on TV. Get the DVD's out there (I don't see the Yellow Sub DVD in the stores anymore). RELEASE LET IT BE ON DVD, COMPLETE WITH BONUS FOOTAGE. Put the cartoons out there as a box set DVD. Put out Shea Stadium and the 66 Japan concerts. Re-master and release Magical Mystery Tour on DVD. The hour is getting late, Apple.
